T H O M A S S H I R L E Y

Thomas Shirley is an artist and educator living in Chicago, Illinois. He is a full-time faculty member of the Photography Department at Columbia College Chicago. At Columbia College, he is the coordinator of the digital imaging area. He specializes in digital technology teaching a variety of photography classes. Professor Shirley has worked as a commercial photographer and has experience in the pre-press side of the industry. He has reviewed text on digital imaging, and is quoted in the press on articles regarding digital printing and originality. He has participated on many panels concerning Digital Imaging, and has curated several shows focusing on digital technology. Tom received a B.S. from the University of Cincinnati and his M.F.A. from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Currently he is researching fine digital printing. He is a member of the Society for Photo Education, The College Art Association, National Association of Photoshop Professionals, and is Adobe Photoshop certified expert. His work is represented in numerous private and public collections.
